Went off without a hitch!

Doing an event in Camarillo in the middle of summer was a little challenging especially with some of the more delicate flowers that we had in arrangements such as gardenia, as well as making sure the arrangements travelled the 2 hours well from San Luis Obispo to Camarillo. So, all in all, the wedding went great! And I would like to thank all of my helpers too! Danny Lewis, Ashley Rak Lewis, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis, Chris Chandler. Once we get more pictures from the event, check them out on Facebook!

Snapshot preview

It was a race against the heat today and after three hours of cleaning all the flowers being used for an event this weekend, I'm finally done. Just wanted to give a little peek at what we are going to be up to this weekend.

All ready to go...

Just a sweet boutonniere for a casual date
in unique box and moss transport

I wish I had gotten a better picture with the mint ribbon that was on the base with pearl head pins to secure it to the suit jacket. Easy to transport with moss- just dampen it for the ride and you can spritz the arrangements all you want without worrying about getting tissue, etc, wet.

I had no idea that I had so many fuchsia colors in my garden until I looked around at all the beautiful blooms around the yard! And then I couldn't resist putting them all together. Maybe it's a little bit of an unconventional color palette, but again, I just couldn't resist!

Oh My Fuschias...

Centerpiece

Centerpiece

Hydrangea, fuschia, heuchera, melaleuca, manzanita

I thought that the color combination would be interesting with the vivid fuschia pink and the dark purple foliage of the heuchera and potato ivy. The hydrangea just photographed really green with the other colors next to it for some reason. Simple enough arrangement, probably hang some candle votives on the manzanita branch as a centerpiece for a nighttime event.

Summer Bouquets

Simple leaf work to wrap bouquet and secure with ribbon

Simple leaf-tied bouquet
If you are on a budget (as most Brides are), a way to keep that bridal bouquet and the bridesmaids bouquets from becoming too expensive is to allow greens to be incorporated into the bouquet, as well as filler flowers, and less technique/ribbon wrapping around the stems. Hand-tied bouquets that have wildflowers in them are really popular right now, and actually can be priced somewhat cheaper than a bouquet that has only form flowers/main flowers in it. These can be cheaper and just as large because of the filler and greens that can be added. Just something to think about!

Thank You For Your Referral

Nothing too expensive for a nice thank you arrangement

Sunflower, misty, black mondo grass heart, canna, hosta, ribbon= simple thank you!

It's nice to always remember and maintain a relationship with your clients. Referrals really are the best way to get your name out there because people will also talk about the service, quality, and reputation of how the floral designers presented themselves.
